A dash
of crazy and a smidgen of dangerous is a great recipe for a novel.

On the first page of Crazy
Dangerous, Sam Hopkins promises to tell you about the stupidest thing he ever
did. Something stupider than punching local thug Jeff Winger…or playing chicken
with a train… As the son of a pastor, Sam Hopkins has always been the good kid
and all the other kids at school treat him differently because of it. So when
the chance comes to hang out with the tough crowd, Sam jumps in with both feet.

But by the time he realizes that
he’s in over his head, things are spiraling out of control. When he manages to
rescue a classmate, Jennifer, from his erstwhile “friends,” he finds himself
pulled into a series of unbelievably terrible events!

Jennifer is terrified. She hears
voices in her head telling her that something terrible is about to happen. But
no one believes her. Except Sam Hopkins.

Like Andrew Klavan’s Homelander Series, Crazy Dangerous is full of action, excitement, and
mystery. At times it was a bit crazy…
well, a lot crazy and very dangerous, so the title certainly fits
mystery. At times it was a bit crazy…

I
instantly bonded with both main characters. The author did a good job of
keeping both of their “voices” unique and I especially enjoyed reading Sam’s
sarcastic comments. And who can’t help liking the little guy who hates being
pushed around?

Crazy
Dangerous is definitely a page turner. Andrew Klavan is willing to throw every
imaginable blockade into his character’s paths until you’re left wondering how
they can possibly succeed. And when the mystery is finally “solved,” the answer
throws you for a loop. Once you read it, you realize the hints are there, but
well buried, so that it remains unexpected!

The only
problem I had with the story was that it seemed to end a little too abruptly,
not much time for you to wind down from all the action. Also, Sam’s “love
interest” might as well have been left out for all that she added to the plot.
She hardly factors into the story at all and when she is “on-stage,” she’s
hardly 3-dimensional.

All in
all, a great action read! Don’t pick this book up unless you have time to
finish it in one sitting! You won’t want to put it down. J Due to the sometimes violent nature of all the craziness and
danger in Crazy Dangerous, recommended for readers 14+.

Thank you for the review! :D I just finished Homelanders (which was AWESOME) so I really wanted to start this book. I'll be sure to pick up a copy!
Charley Robson says
Hmmm, this sounds intriguing … I may have to give it a go sometime … when I have money.
… Sing a different song, Charley, you're turning into a parrot! :P
Rachel says
I'm glad it was so good. I want to read this but don't have a copy yet. Will make a point of getting one. :)
Gillian Adams says
Jon – Homelanders was great, wasn't it?
