After months of struggling to shove all my books into one book case (lovingly, of course, and with all care), I finally got another one.
The shelves no longer sag under the weight of too many massive tomes. There are no longer towers of books stacked precariously in odd places around the room. I no longer have to empty an entire shelf to reach the little book hidden somewhere in the last row in the back corner.
And…I now have space for more books, all those fabulously intriguing titles that I’ve been dying to purchase for the past several months. Note: space does not equal resources, a sad but undeniable fact, so I fear I may be forced to resort to high seas piracy as my only means of acquiring said treasures – i.e. searching for buried treasure, of course. Not book piracy – that is too great a crime! ;)

mmm… books… love those libraries!
lol, I recognize a fair number of the books on your shelves :)
Sarah Elizabeth says
Love, love, love your bookshelves, Gillian!
Gillian Adams says
Jordanna – Nice! I always love getting a look at other people's book shelves and seeing books that I know and love. Actually, that's usually the first place I go when I'm visiting someone else – to sneak a peak at their bookshelves and see what they like to read!
Sarah Elizabeth – Thank you! I'm so excited about them!
Jake says
Gaah! Your bookshelf is so incredible. So many awesome books! How did you even acquire so many?
I used to think I had a lot of books (had to get rid of a bunch to come to Africa, sadly) but you have at least twice as many as I did. :) That's a true writer's bookshelf, that.

Either one of those library rooms would do for me. :D Although, quite honestly, I would like to be that crazy old lady who lives in a house/library… sort of like Meggie's Aunt in "Inkheart". :D

Hi five for new bookcases – that looks amazing! Love how we share ambitions for huge great libraries in our future homes, hehehehe. Gods, I wish I had a Writing Corner now . . . I'm jealous xD
Gillian Adams says
Jake – Why, thankee! Actually, I think the hardest part for me is balancing writing and reading… I want to write, but there are so many books that I also want to sit down and read…and there's just not time enough for it all! :)
Star-Dreamer – Oh! I know! Tell me about it. And it's so sad when she comes back and finds her libraries destroyed!
Charley Roberson – Haha, we should form a club! ;) Ah, my writing corner… also affectionately referred to as the dungeons of doom, the cliffs of insanity, and the bat-cave whenever I'm stuck there for an inordinate amount of time trying to solve some massive plot problem. :)

My house will have to have one of those. ;D !
Oh and hi I just stumbled upon your blog and was delighted to find you are :) 'narnian' well at least in part! And a Christian writer that tops all! I just love your blog and the writing, well done with your 82,000+ words, I've written 1,000 something [only to screw half up] :(
Gillian Adams says
Tiffany – Thanks for stopping by! Glad to have you here. :) I know, wouldn't it be amazing to have one of those massive libraries in your house?
