I enjoyed Starflower so much that I jumped at the chance to join the Christian Science Fiction and Fantasy blog tour for the book. Starflower is the fourth book in Anne Elisabeth Stengl’s Tales of Goldstone Wood series.
There are many books that I love for different reasons. Some have an intriguing premise or a storyline that slowly reels me in until I’m hopelessly entangled. Some have characters so real and endearing that I cannot help walking the pages of the book beside them. And others are written in such a beautiful, lyrical style, that I dwell upon every word, every sentence, every paragraph, reveling in the beauty.
It is rare to find a book that I love for all three reasons, and yet Starflower is such a one.
Here is an excerpt from my review of Starflower that I posted a few weeks back:
“This book caught me by the heart and refused to let go. I started
it, excited to read another book from the Tales of Goldstone Wood, and
instantly became so entangled in the lives of the characters that I had a hard
time setting the book aside, even to do ordinary things like eat and sleep.
Anne Elisabeth Stengl’s writing style is absolutely beautiful.
There is an almost lyrical quality to her phraseology and her word choice
paints a vivid picture in the reader’s mind.
But even more than the beauty of the writing style, even more than
the depth of the world, the characters of Starflower gripped me by the hand and
pulled me relentlessly after them, until I walked the paths of the Wood Between
I highly recommend Starflower to all lovers of fantasy and
especially fairy tales.”
Since I enjoyed this book so much, I’d like to offer you a chance to do the same, so I’m hosting a giveaway of a copy of Starflower.
