Today’s giveaway choice takes place in the not-so-distant future in a galaxy—well, our galaxy, to be honest. On Jupiter, to be exact. Or at least, partially on Jupiter. The planet Jupiter has always fascinated me. I have never quite understood the obsession with Mars, or even the debate over poor little Pluto, but Jupiter, now there’s an interesting one!
And our giveaway book, Jupiter Winds, is no less interesting than its setting. It’s a fascinating blend of dystopian (which is generally an offshoot of sci fi anyway) and space science fiction. In fact, I almost listed it as one of the dystopian giveaways back in January. But the setting, I think, is what causes Jupiter Winds to shift across the line from dystopian to sci fi. But you don’t have to take my word for it, because the author, C.J. Darlington, has agreed to offer a giveaway copy so the lucky winner can decide for him or herself.
(Note: We are unable at this time to ship copies to Jupiter, Mars, or anywhere outside of the United States.)
Enter through the Rafflecopter below, but first, a bit about the book:
Jupiter Winds
In 2160, a teenager becomes the bait to capture her missing revolutionary parents she thinks are long dead. Grey Alexander has one goal—to keep herself and her younger sister Orinda alive. Not an easy feat living unconnected in the North American Wildlife Preserve, where they survive by smuggling contraband into the Mazdaar government’s city zones. If the invisible electric border fence doesn’t kill them, a human-like patrol drone could.
When her worst fear comes true, Grey questions everything she thought she knew about life, her missing parents, and God. Could another planet, whose sky swirls with orange vapors and where extinct-on-Earth creatures roam free, hold the key to reuniting her family?

I heard about Jupiter Winds a while ago (either on Anne Elisabeth Stengl's blog or GTW), and it sounds like a cool book.
I don't know what planet I'd want to go to . . . I'm pretty happy on Earth, and I'd rather go to another world/realm/dimension than another planet.
Alea Harper says
This book sounds awesome. :) I am adding it to my to-read list.
I think I would probably want to travel to Saturn. The rings on it are just so beautiful!
Grace Gidman says
I have read a review for this book and would be interested in trying it out.
Hmm, truthfully, I don't think about planets too often. Can I go to a Star Wars planet? In that case, I would choose Naboo!
Ryebrynn says
Can I choose Gallifrey?
Anna A. says
I wish I'd thought of that! :)
Emily Chapman says
I think I would choose Saturn or Neptune. ^.^
Anna A. says
I'd go to Mars. I read a Sci-Fi nivel about humans living on Mars, and I think I'd be so cool to see the moons and the red sand.
Katie Grace says
Pluto. It needs some love after being basically rejected by all mankind.
Heh. I'm only partially kidding. But, honestly, I don't think I would want to go to a planet. I like earth. :p
Captain Travis says
A science fiction giveaway! Love it.
Kelsey says
Saturn. I did a report on it once in grade school – writing a letter home (earth) as if I was on Saturn, telling about the temperature and view and how much I weighed with the new gravity :) I chose that one because I loved the pretty rings around it :)
Kathryn MacKinney says
I would definitely want to go to Pluto or the Moon.
Victoria Nightsky says
I'll go boring and say Mars. It's always seemed like a beautiful place to me. =)
Annie Hawthorne says
I would visit Gallifrey in an instant. Or else Neptune.
Rachelle O'Neil says
As has been mentioned by several others, I think I'd like to visit Saturn. There's just something really neat about its rings.
As for Pluto, how dare you not care about the debate! ;)
Raechel says
Not sure I've ever thought about visiting another planet…but I'm gonna go with little old Pluto. :)
Elizabeth says
Wow! This book sounds awesome! Thank you, Gillian!
Hmm…if I went to another planet…I think it would have to be Meridian, a planet from a world my sisters and I made up :) It's quite inhabitable, a lovely country in fact, full of forests and streams ;)
Yaasha Moriah says
JUPITER WINDS sounds like a lot of fun! I would love to add it to my "to read" list.
I would like to visit Neptune. I'm not sure why. Maybe it's the coloring, and the ring… It just seems so mysterious and shadowy and unnoticed.
Do you ever write sci-fi?
Jaime says
Krypton, Vulcan, Gallifrey, Kashyyyk… there's just TOO MANY TO CHOOSE.
Oh, wait, reaaal planets? Hmm… I've always been fond of Saturn & Jupiter… Or even Jupiter's moons!
Athelas Hale says
Oh, I've heard some fantastic things about this book!
Oh… I don't know what planet I would like to go to. I caught the tail end of the space age, so I would just really, really love to go to space, though… Just… anywhere.
