I am afraid the month of July got away from me. By the time I looked up, July was gone, August was here, and I hadn’t set up any July giveaways. What with summer camp, writing projects, website updating, and the amazing Realm Makers conference, I am still a little bit behind. But the dust is finally settling enough that I am able to start these giveaways up again.
For this month’s giveaways, we are focusing on Dreamworld Fantasy. Ever had a dream that felt real? What if you discovered that it actually was? If you’re anything like me, that could be a somewhat scary thought. Don’t know about you, but I’ve had some pretty crazy dreams.
In any case, I’m excited to be able to offer Dreamlander by K.M. Weiland as our first Dreamworld Giveaway. Due to shipping difficulties, I’m offering a paperback copy to entrants in the US and an ebook copy to international entrants. Enter through the Rafflecopter below. But first, a bit about the book …
Dreamlander
What if it were possible to live two very different lives in two separate worlds? What if the dreams we awaken from are the fading memories of that second life? What if one day we woke up in the wrong world?
Every night, a woman on a black warhorse gallops through the mist in Chris Redston’s dreams. Every night, she begs him not to come to her. Every night, she aims her rifle at his head and fires. The last thing Chris expects–or wants–is for this nightmare to be real. But when he wakes up in the world of his dreams, he has to choose between the likelihood that he’s gone spectacularly bonkers or the possibility that he’s just been let in on the secret of the ages.
Only one person in a generation may cross the worlds. These chosen few are the Gifted, called from Earth into Lael to shape the epochs of history–and Chris is one of them. But before he figures that out, he accidentally endangers both worlds by resurrecting a vengeful prince intent on claiming the powers of the Gifted for himself. Together with a suspicious princess and a guilt-ridden Cherazii warrior, Chris must hurl himself into a battle to save a country from war, two worlds from annihilation, and himself from a dream come way too true.

Stefanie MacWilliams says
I ALWAYS am having strange dreams. I think the weirdest was when I was staying at my parents house, I dreamed that I sleptwalked and there were giant, dead octopuses all over the yard. I like octopuses, but SERIOUSLY. Ick!
Gillian Bronte Adams says
Yeah … that would be a strange one! Sometimes you have to wonder where these crazy dreams come from, right?
Anastasis Faith says
Your site looks great! :) My life has been pretty wild, too… :) Can’t believe school is already started for most people–and right around the corner for me!!
Crazy dreams? I don’t usually have dreams that are all that weird, but my sister has some strange dreams! :)
Gillian Bronte Adams says
Thanks! I really like the new set up. I think it’ll take a while to get used to it all, but I’m enjoying it so far!
Emma Nikki says
When I was a bout six years old I had this dream with pirates, and the French and Americans going to war. There were kidnappings, and guns, bombs- yeah, I had a pretty demented mind, still do. Basically, there were these guys that looked like American pirates, and they were talking to a whole group of kids down in the sewers, and suddenly they reveal they’re actually the French, after trying to explode all us. And anyways, we all went running and screaming, and there were some crazy stuff that happened, but to much to tell you here. But it was a very strange dream, and somehow I’ve remembered it all these years.
Gillian Bronte Adams says
Haha! Wow. That does sound like a crazy dream. Pretty vivid too, since you remembered it all this time. I have a couple of those. Most of my crazy dreams involve epic battles that are somehow really, really cool when I’m in the dream, but then when I wake up, I realize I was actually fighting a ginormous cow-monster with a lamppost, and that doesn’t sound nearly so epic once you’re awake.
Claire B. says
I’ve been wanting to read this book for awhile!
Craziest dream? I had a weird one that I might turn into a story. I was in some medievally setting and there was a jousting tournament going on. Somehow a Lady Penelope was missing and I had to pretend to be her since the tournament was in her honor. I don’t remember most of the details now, but I remember waking up wondering who Lady Penelope was and why she was missing.
Gillian Bronte Adams says
Oh the best are the ones that feed into your stories! And dreams about jousting, that’s just too cool for words. :)
Elizabeth says
This book sounds amazing! Thank you for organizing another great giveaway!
Hmmm…the craziest dream I’ve ever had would probably either be a very long and detailed dream in which I fought in many of the LOTR battles, or one where I helped out Harry and the gang in the battle of Hogwarts. And if I there…well, I’d probably do just what I did in the dream. :)
Gillian Bronte Adams says
Now those sound more like totally awesome dreams than crazy dreams! Fighting at Hogwarts or somewhere in Middle Earth? Sign me up.
JM Johnson says
Honestly, I have ridiculous dreams all. the. time…. so my first thought would probably be utter terror to wake up in some of my craziest ones. Haha! In general not too bad, just kinda kooky and sometimes a little scary; elevators that freefall, metro trains to space, ability to fly but only by jumping up and off of high things… XD I should write some dream books. It’d make for some good sci-fi.
Gillian Bronte Adams says
Not free-falling elevators! My one weakness. Lol. There’s a superhero “kryptonite” for you. I like the metro trains to space idea though. How cool would that be? If somewhat impossible …
Clare says
I have has so many crazy dreams…….. like every night…. I really don’t know which is the weirdest…. There mas a time I was chased by MnMs…. or when I was trapped in a gigantic castle… that was all squishy… but still harder than a jumping castle…. Or the time I died by falling from the sky onto a tin roof….. and I saw myself splattered there… or the time my dad was trying to stop this printer taking over the world…….. and I could go on……
Gillian Bronte Adams says
Chased by M&M’s … not so bad. Trapped in a gigantic squishy castle … a little strange. Seeing yourself splattered on a tin roof … downright scary and slightly morbid! Your dad stopping a printer that was trying to take over the world … just one question, was it in league with Ultron? :)
Athelas Hale says
Whoah. This book looks AMAZING. I haven’t read any of K. M. Weiland’s stories, but I’ve been to her blog several times, and most of the time leave impressed. :)
Gillian Bronte Adams says
Yes, she has a great blog! I wrote a post for her blog once. It was about villains. Because you know I love villains.
Bria Snow says
What made me think that was my cousin? He looks nothing like him. And what would he be doing here anyway?
Zachary Totah says
I once had a dream where I was part of a caravan and we were being chased by small monkey assassins across the desert, which happened to exist entirely in my front yard.
The writer part of me would think, “Story material! I need to write this down.”
The ordinary part of me would think, “Monkeys as assassins? What the…? Never mind, run!”
Gillian Bronte Adams says
Lol. Monkey assassins. Whew! Scary! I think anyone who saw the Wizard of Oz as a little kid would agree.
Olivia says
The craziest dream I ever had was one in which I befriended a giant and became the enemy of the US government. The dream, however, took place in a fantasy realm where magic existed. My role was pretty much Robin Hood style — meaning that I was an extroverted rogue with impeccable taste. My duty was to save a rather high-maintenance princess who only cared about herself.
If I were to awaken in the world in which my dream took place, my first would probably be, “Oh, sweet!” This remark would likely be followed up by an “oh, dear” and a “am I sure I want to do this?”
The conclusion is that I would be pretty thrilled once I got used to the idea of befriending a giant. :)
Gillian Bronte Adams says
Befriending a giant, huh? That sounds like a dangerous enterprise. Though I suppose it depends on the giant. Reminds me of the film the Iron Giant. Did you ever see it? I mean, it’s about a giant robot, so not actually a giant, but it still reminded me of it. :)
Savannah Perran says
I’ve had way more crazy dreams than I can count :). And there was one really strange dream about my little sister getting a dog, and the dog scratched my legs (obviously, the dog didn’t like me). When I woke up, my legs hurt … weird.
I’ve had a lot of dreams that I would love to be in, and dreams that I absolutely do NOT want to be in. A remember a lot of my dreams, mostly because I’ve been keeping a dream diary for quite a few years :). ~Savannah
Tabitha says
I have a lot of strange dreams. Coincidentally enough, I had a dream last night in which I had just woken up from my previous dream and was telling my husband all about how weird it was. I’m not sure if that counts as waking up inside a dream or not though…
Sarah says
The craziest dream I’ve had? Not sure; I have a lot of really weird/crazy dreams. All my best dreams have involved hanging out with book characters in some form, though- or being in a book, some form of that. So if I woke up inside of one of those ones, I’d be pretty excited . . . and also freaked out, because, you know, bad guys would show up pretty fast.
Tommy Fiebelkorn says
With the majestic and otherworldly grandeur of superlatively crafted concepts and creative colors worthy of the largest of cinema screens and most adept of imaginations, K.M. Weiland’s Dreamlander is simply one of the best self-contained genre-bending epic novels I’ve ever had the privilege of reading for a great many reasons. At the heart of the story’s many successes is the truest nature of its unbridled sense of adventure and the magnitude of such timelessness is set in stone by a bevy of unf
