It’s spring and I’m a captive to my own novel…
Well not really. But sort of!
Perhaps I’d best explain. I’ve been quite busy lately. There is always so much to do in the spring time… and the outdoors is always beckoning. Too many good books piled beside my desk calling my name. And a bunch of horseback stunts my siblings and I are teaching ourselves that need practicing (way too much fun!). So much to tear me away from the computer.
And so… my writing has suffered. I’m so close to typing the end of Song of Leira. I have the outline. I know what needs to happen. I know what is going to happen.
I just have to write it!
So… I’m sitting down and I’m writing it and I’m not going to sleep again until it’s finished! Oh dear! That’s rather a frightening thought. But seriously, this novel must end! TODAY!
So here goes! Cheer me on! Armed with a sword of ink and my collection of epic writing music, I shall slay the evil monster and end the story!
What are your writing goals for today? Word count or plot? Comment and we can encourage one another to finish!
Gabe says
Does drawing count as writing? I have a couple of ideas to lay out…
Gillian Adams says
Sure, why not? We can make it "creative goals for today" instead of just writing goals…
The Director says
Hey, here's me cheering you on!! You can DO it!!! :D
Ah… haha, I try not to think about my writing these days. :P I have a few plot decisions that I'm not sure whether to "okay" or not :P But yeah, my work is at a standstill, but my one writing goal for today is to finish writing my review on The Hunger Games. :| Pathetic, right? Oh well.
Anyway, go write, girl! *cheers loudly*
(Go Gil, Go Gil, Go Gil…….)
Gillian Adams says
@ The Director – Haha! Thanks for the cheering! ;)
I know what you mean about plot decisions. Even here at the end of the book, I'm still fighting against them… but I've changed some things previously decided upon and I'm really glad that I did. Looking forward to the editing phase when I can rework everything!
Haha, no that's not pathetic at all! I've been meaning to write several myself… but haven't gotten around to it yet! So good luck writing your review and I'll look forward to reading it when you've finished!
Jake says
CHHAAAAARRGGEE!
*stands by and waves a little orange flag with "Write Well!" scribbled on it*
Write well! :D My writing has decomposed into procrastination and spontaneous blog posts. :P I must hack away at my schedule sometime to make room for more writing. :P
[Apparently the word verification wants me to know that there's no more 'pudd'. "nopudd". *sigh* Word verifications. ;) They're crazy.]
Gillian Adams says
Almost there! Finishing up the last chapter!!! Yes, I will conquer tonight!
@ Jake: Haha. No 'pudd'? Like no pudding? That's because the Redwall hares ate it all up when they stormed through my room a little while ago!
The Director says
XD XD XD
(to all of the above)
Speaking of which, your word verification needs some spelling tips. Dentist does, in fact, have an "i" in it– NOT dentst :P
Gillian Adams says
I am pleased to announce… no, proclaim… no, SHOUT IT FROM THE ROOFTOPS! I have finished!
And quite a bit earlier than I expected!
The first draft of Song of Leira is complete! Hooray! Huzzah! Ecstatic post to come soon!
