I’m back!
After 3 1/2 months (14 weeks, 98 days) at camp, I am home once more. The summer’s ending is always a bittersweet moment. Camp is such a special place that it is always hard to leave. And this summer was so wonderful! It was challenging – at times difficult – but the Lord carried me through and taught me so much! And as much as I missed my family and am so excited to be with them again, I cannot imagine a better way to spend my summer than getting to work at camp, teaching campers to ride horses, and showing them the love of Christ!
It was and is such a blessing to work with and be surrounded by young people who are completely sold out for Christ and dedicated to living their lives for Him! Their service is a beautiful thing! I am so grateful to all of the staff for their sacrifice this summer and for their example of Christ’s love!
Thank you for your prayers for this summer. The Lord has truly done great things in the lives of the campers and the staff! It is so refreshing to know that, even if we don’t always see the immediate results all the time, His word does not come back void, and as long as we are faithful to do what He has called us to and to preach His word, He will take care of the rest!
Whew. I almost feel as if I have forgotten how to write coming back to the keyboard after such a long absence! But I am anxious to dig out Song of Leira and continue the lengthy rewriting process! I’m excited to get back to work on it. And… I have some rather exciting news. But more on that in my next post!
There you see… suspense! I put that in there on purpose! Now, you know you’ll have to read the next post! :)
For now, I’m signing off. Bed is calling!
