Things have been a bit quiet on the blog front lately. Apologies, my friends. I swear, this generally only happens when things have been anything but quiet on the western front that we call life. But I am back … and I have exciting news.
Songkeeper is coming.
Houston, we have a release date. So it’s time to mark your calendars and stash your pocket change in a safe place for launch day on April 15th. That’s right. Only two months from today!
Yep, that’s a photo of me positively thrilled to find the final galley for Songkeeper in my inbox yesterday morning. One final read-through to catch and destroy those last persistent typos and then its off to press. Meanwhile, I’m also conquering my way through book three and brainstorming a whole slew of ideas for Songkeeper‘s launch.
On that note, keep your eyes peeled for another post in the next few weeks, because I am going to be seeking out an army of brave souls to strap on their battle armor, throw in their lot as members of the Launch Team, and help get Songkeeper off the ground. More details will be coming soon, but for now, I have a question for you!
Three questions rather.
- Would you be interested in participating in a Launch Team and helping spread the word about the book in exchange for some fabulous perks, including a chance to read Songkeeper early?
- Would you be more interested in a competitive Launch Team – where you strive to earn points and prizes through your participation – or would you prefer a Launch Team where everyone happily does their part? (I lean toward the competitive side myself …)
- Are you still confused about what a Launch Team is?

Thanks for stopping by! :) Having read Orphan’s Song isn’t required to apply for the Launch Team, however, you will want to read the first book before jumping into the second … (and I’ll let you in on a little secret that will be “officially” revealed in the next blog post – all members of the Launch Team will receive a free digital copy of Songkeeper to read and review as a part of the launch.) So you’re more than welcome to apply for the Launch Team, but you will want to have read Orphan’s Song before reading Songkeeper, simply because the books do build on one another. But don’t let that stop you from applying when the next post comes out! :)

Clare, yes, participation in the Launch Team shouldn’t be affected by your location. I’m still hammering out all the details and trying to gather input from y’all in the meantime, but more information should be coming soon!

I have a B&N gift card that I’m saving for this and Samara’s Peril, once they’re both out . . . or, depending, an Amazon gift card. Come to think of it, I should reread Orphan’s Song in preparation . . .
Also, I am definitely interested in being part of the Launch Team! I’d prefer cooperative to competitive (mostly because I’m not on a lot of social media and so it’s usually hard for me to compete), but I’ll happily participate either way, given the opportunity.
I love re-reading books in a series just before the release of the next book. And then, once all the books are out, I generally read them in reverse order, because I haven’t read the latest books nearly as many times as the earlier books, but once I get started reading the latest books, then I want to go back and read the earlier books too! It’s a dangerous (but glorious!) cycle.
Good to know! I’m still bouncing ideas around for the Launch Team, but if it does wind up being semi-competitive, I’m hoping to have a decent number of ways to participate that don’t necessarily require social media, in addition to those that do. I’ve participated in some fun competitive launches and some fun not-so competitive launches in the past, so either way, I’m hoping it will be a fun experience for all involved! Well, when your plate is too full, obviously, you need a bigger plate. That’s what we learn at Thanksgiving and medieval feasts, right? LOL.
