I had so much fun doing this back in October, figuring out costumes and taking pictures for my characters, and seeing the costumes y’all came up with, that I decided to do another one and make it a monthly challenge – slightly different each time, of course, to keep it interesting!
Any excuse to throw on a costume and take pictures in character, right?
Here are the “guidelines” for this month’s challenge:
This month’s challenge is similar to the one we did back in October. Next month we’ll try something new.
Dress up like one of the characters from a story you’re writing. Or if you’re not a writer, or not currently writing a story, dress up like a character from one of your favorite books. It doesn’t have to be anything elaborate. This isn’t a contest or anything like that. Just something to help you understand your character better.
Then take a picture of yourself in said costume (and in character – i.e. if your character is prone to scowling, don’t smile in the picture!) and post it on your blog, or facebook, or somewhere online on Friday, February 8th.
Click here to see an example of a previous costume post. (I’ll admit, I went a wee bit overboard and did all three main characters from my current WIP! You don’t have to do that of course…)
You can write a little bit about your character too, or if it’s a character from someone else’s book, tell us why you chose that character!
Then hop over here and post a comment on my “Characters in Costume” post and I’ll stop by and see your costume! :)
Be sure to share this challenge with all your writing/reading friends. The more people who participate, the more fun it is!
Leave a comment if you’re interested in participating.
