- To have a changed mindset, the focus and dedication of a missionary in a foreign culture…
- To share Christ’s love with those I meet. And I don’t mean walking up to everyone in the supermarket and saying “God loves you.” The words mean nothing if I don’t show that kind of love working in my life.
- To love His people as He loved me; to pour His love out upon them…
- To pray daily for those around me…
- To speak out boldly, not act as though I am ashamed of the Gospel of Christ…
- To dedicate my time, resources, and abilities to serving God…
Luke 9:23 “Then He said to them all: ‘If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it. What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit his very self? If anyone is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Gather and of the holy angels.’”
I Corinthians 15:58 “Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.”
Philemon 6 “I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ.”
Anyway, if you feel like this challenge is something you would like to participate in and would like to comment as a way to make a firm declaration, please do so! Leaving a comment is not necessary, but it is one way that we can encourage and pray for one another as we strive to live to glorify God!

Thank you sweet Gillian for another wonderful post. Lately, I have been thinking along a similar line – it is hardest to get out of our comfort zone when so comfortable. What makes us so reticent to share our faith, our love for Christ? I, too, commit to pray for a changed mindset – to live a life of daily loving and serving God.

Gillian, this is wonderful. Having moved to the mission field 17 years ago this post of yours is very personal to me. I commend your challenge and I plan to join, seeing as I'm moving to the states and working at camp this year too.
See you soon,
Michael M

This is challenging and resonating. :) I do wish to join, but I will post another comment on whether or not I will do so soon.
I just (tonight) did a Perspectives lesson about living as a World Christian–living like a missionary in our homeland.
