Because of my recent move, I had to go through my bookcases and clear out quite a few books. In order to get them all to my new place, I probably would have required the services of an obliging dragon or giant for transportation.
Unfortunately, both dragons and giants seem to be in rather short order nowadays …
Instead, I was forced to take a large stack of books to the local library. But I did save all of the fantasy and speculative fiction books just for you, my dear readers!
So for the rest of the month of November and all of December, I will be offering one fantasy or speculative fiction giveaway a week on my blog.
Giveaways are limited to the US … due once more to the lack of adequate international dragon delivery services.
This week’s giveaway is for the first two books in the Legends of Karac Tor series by D. Barkley Briggs: The Book of Names and Corus the Champion.

Oh yes! Hot chocolate is a must.
Sarah says
Yay giveaways!
My favorite thing to do once it starts getting cold outside is curl up under a blanket with a good book. Either that or write, write, write, because cold weather means November and NaNoWriMo!
Gillian Bronte Adams says
Another one of my favorites. I've been doing that a lot lately in the evenings.
Good luck with NaNoWriMo. It's been a couple years since I've participated, but I always loved it when I did… well loved and hated it at the same time. :)
Ryebrynn says
Giveaway! I love giveaways.
Well, when it starts getting cold outside, I usually disappear to my room(the coldest room in the house) and grab a book off the shelf. Then I turn on my favorite music and read. I also like to write and drink hot chocolate.

Gillian Bronte Adams says
Is it bad that I've started playing Christmas music already? Whenever I get home from work in the evenings, I turn on the Christmas music … and it makes me so happy!
Nightingale says
How generous of you! I love following your blog, you always have interesting posts. Thanks so much for sharing these books with us! :)
When it gets cold outside EVERYTHING becomes my favorite thing to do. I love, love fall and winter! Wearing a sweater and hood is probably at the top of the list; makes me feel like an adventurer. ;D
Gillian Bronte Adams says
Thanks, Nightingale! Sweet of you to say.
By the time summer's over, I'm ready for some cold weather. But come about mid February and I'm ready for it to be summer time. Guess I need to work on enjoying the weather that I have at the moment! :)
Hannah says
Aw, I'm sorry you have to give away so many of your books. But thank you so much for thinking of us! I've wondered if I would enjoy these books for awhile!
Hmm, on cold days I've lately been doing school, drinking hot chocolate, and writing when I have a chance.
Gillian Bronte Adams says
Well, you don't have to feel too bad – I had at least eight boxes filled with books that I was able to fit in my truck when I moved! ;) But I'm glad that these books will still get some good use out of them!
Hannah says
Oh, and I shared about your giveaway twice over at my blog.

I love eating comfort food and running around with my kids in the leaves. This really is my favorite time of year!
Gillian Bronte Adams says
Autumn/winter is so beautiful, isn't it?
Allison Ruvidich says
Curl up with a fuzzy quilt and a good book! Hot chocolate is not mandatory but suggested. :) I'm a few follower to your blog, and it's nice to meet you!
Gillian Bronte Adams says
Nice to meet you too, Allison. Glad you stopped by!
TW Wright says
It hasn't been cold where I live in a very long time!! (unless you're in the AC room…). But I liked to curl up with a jacket on and read a great book, :)
Here is the link where I shared the giveaway on my blog:

This is so cool, thanks Gillian!

Thanks for sharing the giveaway!
Yeah, the weather's a bit fickle in my neck of the woods. It's really cold when I get up in the mornings … then it warms up quite a bit during the day … and then it's bitter cold at night again when I head home!
Theodora Ashcraft says
When it gets cold outside, my favorite thing to do is to curl up with a furry blanket, my stuffed panda, and ideally some tea or hot chocolate, and just relax – read, or chat to friends, or sometimes write. Usually while listening to Christmas music. XD
Gillian Bronte Adams says
I love Christmas music! I just might have started listening to it in October … :) But it's so good.
Molly says
When it's cold out, I prefer writing and tea, or watching a favorite TV show. Maybe tramping in the woods. With tea. Basically, anything with tea.

Gillian Bronte Adams says
Tramping in the woods when it's chilly outside makes you feel so adventurous, doesn't it?
Amy Fischer says
play with my dog outside
Dark Wolf says
For me, it's to sit in my chair by the fireplace and either read a good book or write. :)
Riley says
my favorite thing to do when it gets cold outside is to….have tea! or pull out all my warm clothes.
